Dive in to Geno Pacino’s ‘Pacino Season 2’—Album Review
Chicago artist Geno Pacino shared the second installment of his Pacino Season series. Fifteen tracks for the listeners across all platforms.
Pacino Season 2 sparks more depth out of Geno Pacino and what he’s looking for out of his rap journey. His placement in the rap game, his imprint, and his focus are all on the line on the new album.
The first I heard of Geno Pacino was the animated ‘Rudy Ray’ visual stemming from the first Pacino Season. One thing that is noted from his journey is the growth from the first Pacino Season. He carried the energy over while adding some touches towards the next drop.
Throughout the second installment, you can get a good word from his story. Geno spoke on having to step up and be a single father, legal troubles, and the overall comeback from those dark days.
‘Prayer’ and ‘Psycho’ were two singles that he used to propel the release of the album. Both singles are on the album as well.
‘Chaos’ was the opening single from Pacino Season 2. Geno laid a lot on the line for the listeners right away. Throughout his lines, the sample rang in the background.
“I can’t escape this chaos”
He spoke on his triumphs throughout a chaotic lifestyle. ‘Chaos’ captures the tip of the scale with Pacino. He opens the album with what he’s searching for amid the chaos. In his life, he has many things to be proud of, but he keeps the chaos around in check as the instrumental reigns on behind his words.
Geno continues his vulnerability and transparent talk throughout the album with the track ’Tears of Joy'. One of my favorite things to take away after diving into an album is how well I can relate. If I can’t relate, up next to bat is how well I can understand. Geno offers lines that are relatable in context, and understandable throughout nature.
“I told myself that my success imminent, lets re-invent hip-hop on some Jay Dilla sh*t.”
The process throughout his journey is on full display throughout the album. His durability, persistency, and never-give-up attitude allowed for Geno’s ride. When chasing that dream, letting up is not an option.
With the first Pacino Season, Geno pushed that release up until the second one came out. He paid his due diligence, waiting patiently and locking in with those that will reciprocate his persistence.
He’s been featured across several Chicago media platforms that allowed for insight on just him and not the music. Geno showed his appreciation by reciprocating clips of the interviews with Bar University, Gotti’s World Podcast, and SoFarSounds.
‘Welcome to Da Circle’ offers that “sit down” talk from Geno and King Chaz. He was coming off as if he was speaking to someone that was once in his shoes that he wore back then. With the melodies ringing on the chorus, King Chaz cleaned up after Geno stays level-headed throughout his opening verse.
‘9:45 in Chicago’ featuring Big Mel and Oplus captures Pacino talking his talk in his quick verse. He’s letting listeners know this ain’t the same Pacino that you once knew. His come-up came from the ground up, not just on social media timelines.
Speaking to Pacino, he expressed his easygoing nature and mingling personality. He’s going to get his foot in the door through music and with what makes him who he is. All in all, Pacino Season 2 charts the hours he put in as an independent artist.
His new season hosts direction and that urge for a respected placement in hip-hop. Pacino is running under his ideology of how his route should go, and it’s got him this far.
