The mind and opportunity (Use it or lose it)

By: Jimmie Sykes

Our mind allows us to live life according to our perception of the world. Thoughts turn into reality, and we live life by that. Your mind is yours to use, or yours to lose. We must keep focus and stay true to our mission. Losing focus is a sign of weakness. Never let anything get in the way of you and your goals.

Money on my mind.

Just ask Bill Gates, a brilliant mind can outweigh a college degree any day.

Plan, execute, and make an honest living for yourself. You can't be well off in life without a plan (not speaking for handouts). On the way to the top we must have a clear eye view of our vision. Place the thought that nothing can stop you in your head and live by it. Plan it out and bring it to life. Only you are capable of that. It's all in your head you just got to vision a better way and go after it.

Often times we find ourselves in positions such as where our job doesn't pay enough, or we aren't treated fair in our workplace. Never settle for less when you have to make ends meet. Get out of the habit of settling for less. Break the habit of settling for "convenience".

When you're trying to making a living, make sure it's a living that you actually love. Do what you love for the rest of your life and get paid for it. End of story. You will feel better about yourself in the end.

Word to Sean Carter.

Imagine making your dreams come to life and bring in an income based solely off your vision. That is a beautiful life to live. This can happen with any of us. Just put your mind to it. Often times our plans to take a shot at success doesn't fall through. It's alright, brush yourself off and try again.

There is no limit, keep going until you make it and don't get discouraged. If plan A doesn't fall through, ask yourself how's your Plan B looking.

The mind and opportunity

When there's an opportunity in front of you, go out and get it. Don't let anything get in your way. Put your mind to something you want and claim it. If you want that manager position at your job, move like the manager.

You want to be the boss, then start moving like a boss.

Be on top of all opportunities that come your way. That window of opportunity is all that we got for the moment. That window doesn't last long so don't hesitate to take your shot at what you want. Even if it doesn't benefit you down the road, don't be afraid to give it some thought. Think it through and weigh your options out.

Opportunity is knocking, will you answer?

In this case, the Fresh Prince is opportunity knocking.

One opportunity can open doors for many. The choice is always yours to think it through or let it slip away from you.

Discipline your mind!

A strong, positive mental comes from self-discipline. Monitor your thoughts at all times. Before a well-executed action, a well-executed thought must be in play. We should all want to be in the healthiest state of mind we can be in. That takes self-discipline to achieve.

It is ok to tell yourself NO sometimes.

Mental health is important. Discipline of the mind is something that must happen gradually. It's a slow process, but commitment to change can cut out any bad habit. Cut the wants out of your life and prioritize your needs. Know what you have to do to get where you need to be.

We all have strides to make in life and we must use our mind to achieve. Limit the distractions and prioritize what matters most in life. Free your mind, and the rest will follow.
